    Default 2/7 - Mav PCA TT104

Time to start cluttering up this board...

I'll be there, and I think Justin mentioned that he'd signed up for this, but I don't know if he's found our little haven on the web yet. Is anyone else planning on going? Lots of fun!

I'm not gonna make this event. In fact, my first event will probably be the S2K on 2/28?. I HAVE to pass some tests first- before I start to play this year. (wow- emoticons are plentiful 'round here)

So Joe, did Ron ever end up talking you into a co-driver arrangement for this season? I'd love to see the both of you competing in your car on R compounds.

We did discuss it, but we determined that it wouldn't work.
I have considered the R tires, but that also means new wheels and a trailer. Just not ready to make that commitment yet. Besides, I still have a lot to learn and build on last years efforts.
This year will be fun and hopefully more competitive for you...

Hey guys! The maniac here. Iain, why didn't you send me an email about this list. Justin did, so here I am.

So far the Miatas at the 2/7 TT 104 event are Justin, Keith Keenes , Iain, and myself.

Has everyone seen the full schedule for Mav schools and events? Their website is www.pca.org/mav Follow the link at the lower left corner to Driving events, then pick AX/TT or Schools and read all about it.

Sorry Mitch, didn't think about it. To be honest, the only direct invitation I've extended was to Chris W., and only because he happenend to privately email me at the right time, I guess.

But spread the word, by all means. This board is open to all... and all opinions and viewpoints will be welcomed here, even those opinions that conflict with those held by the management.

Welcome, Mitch... If that's the full schedule, I'll add it to the calendar.

I've been holding off... In part because the calendar editor is a PITA... In part because I keep meaning to re-write said calendar editor.

Sigh... at the risk of becoming the Mav PCA's "cancellation poster boy", I'm afraid I'm not going to end up making it on Saturday.

That cold I had last week has settled in my chest, and doc says standing out in the cold in Mineral Wells all day is high on his list of no-nos. I'd been hoping all week that it would get better enough to risk ignoring doctor's orders, but that hasn't happened.

WHich really is too bad, as I'd been hoping to get a chance to try out a different swaybar settings and a new alignment. Guess that'll have to wait.

Ok Myself and Mitch were the only Miata in attendence. Overall it was a good event and an excellent chance to see all three courses in one day. My only critisizm would be that I wish I had a few more runs on each track. It was an excellent way to try out the new power, to bad I still don't know how to use it All in all great day as it was sunny and NO WIND See this is what happens when I finally take enough cloths to stay warm in MW.

    No wind? No way.

How is the turbo running? Have you finished fine tuning the Link? What kinda EGTs do you see and how fast is it to respond?

Surprise/scare any porsche's with all the power?

Honestly, I'm usually going way to fast to try to focus on that little needle. Although it does seem to respond very quickly, but for the most part for now I am just using it to see when it is safe to shut the car off.

Still tuning, but at last account it was 224 whp. Still need to get to the dyo, but that is what the Link said I'm at. I should be getting pretty close to my final safe power level.

That said I turned the boost down to 8psi for the TT school since I wasn't sure how to use the power on the track. I don't know if I scared anyone but I did have a few people ask what I had done to it since I would blow by them while they were working corners. I am happy to say I did not impeed anyone this time, but I didn't catch anyone either. So eventhough my times were not slow, I do have a lot of room for improvement.

So what did I learn?? Boost is fun.....Boost in the wrong spot is a spin
