hi guys, my msm has almost 20k miles on it and I figure its time to change out the tranny and differential fluid. I am planning on putting redline synthetic fluids in both. can anyone tell me the capacities of both units and which viscosity fluids to go with. thanks for any help!

Second on the Mobil 1... I used RedLine in the other diff and I've felt no difference.
Now for the price, my wallet felt the difference between the pricey RedLine and the TCB Mobil 1.
If you buy your Redline from Shuhart, it's cheaper than Mobil1 at vato Zone.
75-90 for the Diff, MTL or MT-90 for the Tranny. You'll have to try both to see which you prefer in the tranny. I liked the MT-90 better, but alas, shuhart1 only has the MTL. OTOH, I now run Mobil1 in both, since my tranny feels better to me with the Mobil1.

Tried Redline (MTL iirc) in the tranny, worked great for 3-4k miles, then got really notchy. Mobil1 doesn't seem to share the same problem. I use Mobil1 75w90 synthetic gear oil in both the tranny and the diff now.

thanks for the help guys! i think i have a few bottles of redline sitting in my garage, but if it isnt enough i will go with the mobil 1, it really is a pain to find the redline and its more expensive. is there anything special to know when changing out these fluids or is it pretty straight forward?
Good stuff on "how-to" on this page!
