    Default SCCA Banquet (finally!) announced

I suppose many of you received this information in the mail as well, but the SCCA has announced details of their Awards Banquet:
    • - WHEN: February 28th
      - WHERE: Embassy Suites hotel near Outdoor World (north end of DFW).
      - AGENDA: 6p - 7p Open Bar, 7p - 8p Buffet Dinner, 8p Guest Speaker, 8:30p Door Prizes
      - ATTIRE: Business Casual
      - COST: $25 in advance, $30 at the door
      - RSVP: by February 22nd to John Barrentine (214.352.1584)
Anyone interested in going? The unfortunate thing is that it's the same day as the first NTS2KOC autocross out in Mineral Wells. Trying to attend both events would undoubtedly mean leaving early from the autocross. I for one would have to leave by about 2:30p , in order to make it home, get cleaned up, and get out to the Banquet by 6:00p.

I've never been to an SCCA Banquet, so I don't know if they are worth it or not. I'd really like to get my year-end trophy, but I suppose I could just pick it up at the first SCCA autocross (March 21st). On the other hand, I think we had a pretty good time at the ER Banquet, mostly because we had so many Miata Pilots in attendance. Heck, onething has to show up at the SCCA Banquet, just so he can haul all the door prizes home.

I'll be there. I mean... It may be a while before I snag another 1st place season trophy... Competition's gonna be tough this year.

Maybe we can stop and shower at one of our West Side folk's houses on the way from the S2K party...

I don't know how I'd cast my vote for this one! If there weren’t a scheduling conflict I would defiantly go, but me thinks I'd rather run an S2K event, and skip the banquet. I’m going to think about this on for a couple of day before I cast my vote……

    So, what do you think???

I didn't vote yet, but with only 3 posts and a couple of them claiming not to have decided, how does the poll show 3 votes already???

    OK - I voted now

So what's wrong with fashionably late and a jacket over grease stained jeans? Those race snobs might think we'd been racing!!!

Hmm... I think I'll pass. I can pick up my plaque from CSP at the first SCCA event, and I'm not going to miss the first NTS2kOC autocross - they're too much fun.

Well I took a couple of days to think about it!

The following words are causing me to hedge toward the "no" side of the pole. "- COST: $25 in advance, $30 at the door"

I got a 3rd place trophy from last year that I could pick up but I may just wait and get it at the trailer like Mark52

Me too - $50 buck for supper??? Don't think so, but I still think it would be fun to show up in my AX duds from the other event.

Well, the response on this one seems a bit... cool. I kinda wanted to go -- just to see what it was all about -- but I wouldn't want to be the only Miata guy there. Plus I really hate missing any drive time at the S2000 gig. Then there's the $25.00 per person cost...

Looks like I'll be picking my trophy up in August with the rest of you.
