I would stick with the OEM unless you care to pay the price difference for the Plats and Iridiums.
Need to put plugs in the '02 looked at NGK's website and it came up with the following options for the car:
So would Platinums or Iridium plugs make any difference or are the OEM V-Powers the way to go??2002 MAZDA MIATA LS 1.8 L4 BP-ZE FI DOHC
Spark Plug Part No. Stock No. Plug Gap
Standard BKR5ES-11 2382 .044
V-Power BKR5E-11 # 6953 .044
G-Power Platinum BKR5EGP 7090 .044
Laser Platinum PFR5G-11 * 2647 .044
OE Laser Iridium IFR5E11 ^ 7994 .044

Well let's say hypothetically that money is not a concern. Would the Platinums or Iridium plugs make any difference in how the car ran??Originally Posted by Treibenschnell
Agreed! Platinums will last longer, but probably won't make a performance difference.Originally Posted by onething

And sometimes the car will run worse with the platinums... My 86 Mustang didn't like 'em...
Those Platinum and Iridium plugs are great for vacuuming out the wallet but not great for much else. The price difference isn't worth it.

Lightness? What's that? I drive a PRHT!
It money were no concern I'd still run the stocks. I run the Bosch Plat+4's on the Sled but haven't seen a difference. I'll be returning to stock at the next plug change.Originally Posted by POS Racing

I use the Bosch Platinum 4's.
The NGK's ran rough in my car even after triple checking the gap on the plugs.
Also mine doesn't want to run right on anything but Premium, maybe cause it's been wrecked...lol
Speaking of, I have a set of new NGK's (less than 100 miles) if you want them.....I just need to find them.![]()

Something else to look into that i recommend......instead of the BKR5E,,,,get the BKR7E
Its 2 heat ranges colder and works great on my car for autocross......though it hates full throttle below 1500RPM.....but definatly peppier upper end and the same price.
