If any of you didn't see the grammys, the opening featured the cartoon band Gorillaz playing live on stage. Click here for a video of that performance. I'm kind of curious how they did it.

Here's my thoughts after watching the video.
Obviously the animated Gorillaz are on a large video screen. When Madonna walks in front of the guitar player I thought I knew it. Then they threw you for a loop when Madonna appears to walk behind the guitar player. Obviously a real person couldn't walk behind an animated one on a screen. I finally figured it out that Madonna wasn't real. She was animated on the video screen too which would allow her to travel behind the guitarist.
More proof of this is how she quickly transfers to the other stage to complete the song. BTW, the Madonna on the second stage is real and I'm amazed she still has "it". She's about to turn 50!
Very cool effect though.
I agree with Black Roadster, and if you are an audio freak like me you will see that when she is singing with the Gorillaz, she has no mic pack and when she is with the dancers her mic pack is behind her right shoulder.
