Thread: Who was talking about flying a FM guy down to tune?

Default Who was talking about flying a FM guy down to tune?

I remember reading recently where someone was talking about flying one of the guys down from FM to do a tuning session on some of our cars?

If so, what are the details? If the cost isn't too much, I'd like to see what we could do about getting the ball rolling.

I mentioned it. It was a wild idea that came to me a while back, but I really don't have a clue what it would cost. I hear that Jeremy has a friend in the DFW area and was down last year to tune Screamin'Screw's car before the reality show race he was on/in. I have been waiting to research the cost/feasibility and try to get some takers until I actually buy my Link.

Economies of scale. My old buddy, Steve Kan of Gotham Racing, has done a lot of fly-n-tune. It just depends how much whomever from FM would charge to come down and do the tune and how many people have to sign up.

I don't know anyone else with a Link or Hydra locally, so I can't judge how much of a draw there would be.

There's also the other FI experienced people who are a bit closer that might be a cheaper route. Anyone know how much experience Gary or Alara has with tuning FM systems?

Not sure about FM, but Ken Hill is tunning Miata on the side. He is up north now, but may be willing to make a trip down here if there was enough intrest and of course he can even tune on FM's old dyno. I have been working with him via email and data logs to tune my car.

Looks like Jeremy of FM was in Texas in January.

It was actually last November that He was out here, as the tuning took place before the first race. Look up a few posts... I'm pretty sure I already mentioned it.

Jeremy did my car as a part of the TV show. You could probably entise Keith or Jeremy to come down as along as we can get him/them on the Track at MSR.

Have them bring the cars down and play on track.

Are there any tuning issues you are having??

I'm wanting to turn the boost up. The previous owner had it set on a curve going from around 5-9 psi. Runs fine, just needs more GO!

I haven't even contacted FM to see what needs to be done. May be simpler than I think..

Read the tuning manual three times. And then read it twice more. Save your settings so you can always go back and tune it yourself.

I have all the software if you want to play with that too.

Yea, I've read it a bunch. I need to get around to emailing FM with some questions..
