Patriot Guard Riders Honor Our Fallen Soldiers
I just joined the DFW Miata club website. Thanks for having me and my '99 10th anniversary.
I wanted to alert you to another organization which you may find appealing. The Patriot Guard Riders (www.patriotguard.org) is a group of individuals who honor our fallen soldiers by attending (as invited guests) the funerals and flying the flag.
Though the group was organized by motorcyclists, all are welcome to join and participate. The group isnt about protesting and politics. Its only mission is to honor our fallen soldiers. Our soldiers and their families deserve the utmost respect.
You may have seen the news reports of protestors at military funerals with signs that state "God Hates Fags". PGR operates to shield the family from such nonsense by standing proudly with large flags between the protestors and the family. At our last mission on Friday, 17 March 2006 in Temple, TX, a group of protestors appeared to taunt the family.
I'd like to have a few more Miatas attend the PGR missions. (so far, I'm the only E. Texas Miata pilot and I'm lonely).
Again, I invite you to check out the PGR website, join and participate in honoring our soldiers.
On Thursday, 23 March 2006, PGR has been invited to attend the funeral of Gunnery Sgt Fry in Waco, TX. Mission details are posted on the PGR website. I invite you to rediscover your sense of patriotism and join us in honoring Gunny Fry and all those who have served our great country.
