That looks like a hard thick plastic... I wouldn't worry about it myself.
I'd call it weight savings!![]()
Much thanks to Merv for supplying this nice low mileage stock catback to replace the funky center exhaust.
Looks like Merv's driving style has turned the tip a nice rainbow blue...I like the effect. I plan to somehow use the old exhaust hole cover to cover the center hole, but as it is its not too noticable, kinda looks like a tow hitch or something like that.
After looking under there I noticed it looks like somethings missing. Some of yall at my suspension swap pointed out the bumper cover was not factory, so the car was probably in a fender bender & judging my the P.O's ghetto rigging that went in to this whole project, it wouldnt surprise me if some integral frame piece was left out...
Heres some pics, sorry for the crappy angles, it was the best I could manage under there.
This is the rigged up hanger that was welded to the muffler, but fell off first thing wen whe pulled the old exaust, I didnt think it belonged there so I left it out.
Also, if anyones interested in this fine butt hole catback conversion, let me know before I find a big enough dumpster around here to throw it in...

Somehow I expected that from BeanOriginally Posted by Treibenschnell
Honestly, unless I get rear-ended by anything other than another lowered miata or an MR2 the cars front end would probably go over the trunk, so im pretty much screwed anyway since I dont have a rollbar...
Anyone else have any say on this before I call it case closed??
