Basswood is heavy but it should sound nice!

These guitars are extremely lightweight they are only about 1.25 inches thick tho maybe that's the diffrence.

My bass is of the same material and it's heavy!

Speaking of acoustic basses, I've found a nice Ibanez for a steal at a local shop... I'm tempted!

Ibanez makes some good acoustic Bass's.
The ones I have heard have needed a sound hole cover though in live shows due to feedback.
