Thread: no bueno

    Default no bueno

Yesterday was the lovely Vivid's and my anniversary. We always go out to eat, decided on Hoffbrau Steaks drove over and found out they were closed because of yesterday's immigration deal. So we went to Texas Roadhouse and had a nice steak dinner.

Thanks Hoffbrau Steaks, nice job being prepared!

I was also shocked I never heard Illegal Alien by Genesis on the radio yesterday!

Nice job. If I were in charge, every business that closed yesterday would be getting a big fat INS audit today...

My delight came yesterday when I went to Wendy's. I was greeted by an English speaker, gave my order to an English speaker, paid an English speaker, and received my well prepared food from an English speaker. More days without illegal immigrants, please!!!!

I was thinking that exact same thing TC, but then again it's the Gubmint were talking about and that would make too much sense.

Me and the wife went to Poncho's for lunch and there wasn't a short supply of non english speaking people...so all didn't protest, with 1.1 million who did that's kind of scary

It's funny, because everyone I talk to about this issue has generally the same opinion:

    1. Immigrants are good, so long as they follow the law.
    2. Immigration should be pretty easy for people who want to peacefully work, pay taxes, and not commit crimes.
    3. People shouldn't be rewarded for breaking the law.
    4. Any kind of amnesty program for illegals should, at a minimum, put them at the back of the line behind people (like my wife, who is an immigrant) who have been going through the system legally.
    5. Nobody is against immigration, generally. Everyone (except illegals and their family members, it seems) is for enforcing the law.

It's weird that the immigrant community seems to think that lots of people are anti-immigrant. I don't know anyone who feels that way. People just want everybody to follow the damn law.

    Very well put!

Wonder how much of the spin has been added by the media? Listening to Sunday nights news you would have thought the world was going to end on Monday due to this walkout.

Being a small business owner, all that I ask is the the EMPLOYEERS pay their portion of the taxes and the same as the employee.

If I did not have to pay taxes I could drive a brand new car, instead of a 16 year old car.

I agree with TC. "If I were in charge, every business that closed yesterday would be getting a big fat INS audit today... "
Hmm what is decent? Are we talking about your decent or my decent? I'm just curious because I don't want to offend anyone else's decent...

What the media isn't passing along is that the illegals suck up every penny & more they save businesses in free health care for themselves, their cousin and their in laws who come up from Mexico for a free coronary artery bypass while they're visiting.

Go to Parkland, Baylor, Methodist & see if you can find English speaking patients in the ER waiting areas...

I personaly don't have a problem with immigration, I do however have a problem with the tax payers paying for their healthcare, welfare, tax rewards for not using birth control, food stamps, printing these assistance forms in Spanish etc etc.
If we stopped offering rewards to come over here and milk the system, we wouldn't have the problem in the first place.
But to come over here and expect anything from the legal american taxpayer is just wrong and criminal.
It seems that if you are so disapointed in your own country's was of running themselves enough to leave you would embrace change and want to learn english and obide by the laws of the country that is better than where you are coming from.
    Just my opinion.

Can we close this thread now? It has definitely drifted right past restaurant service into politics that are usually kept off of the board.

Nah... we're just advocating law enforcement. We'll kill it off tomorrow. If you wanted it closed, you should have launched into a political diatribe.

There's a time and place for religion and politics. This forum is neither. Please drive through.

    See how easy that was?
