Yep and it's about time we got better coverage of swimsuit competitions & foam parties!

Dream Car garage doesn't bring you that kind of coverage!

Well it was on again last night! I asked my lovely wife if she would like to watch it with me and she said, "NOPI".

I still don't have speed channel....but I don't have cable or satellite, so that probably has something to do with it.

I would love to get directTV but my apartment faces almost directly west and is right next to a stairwell that would likely prevent me from getting a signal unless I hung the dish about 8 feet out from the porch.....

You could always do what I've seen at one local apartment complex - the guy has his dish mounted on a pole that is sunk into a 10-gallon bucket full of concrete. This contraption just sits by the sidewalk with a clear line of sight to the satellite, and the cables run over his porch and through his back door.

I was thinking about making some big cantilever truss with an indexing pin. That way I could swing it out when I wanted to watch tv and swing it back in when I wasn't. That way they would still be able to mow around my porch and I could even hide the dish when I wanted.

But then I realized that I'm a lazy engineer and would probably never build such a complex contraption when I could just rent a movie. Or not watch tv at all.
