Quick Q about radiators and thermostats:
My '91 celica GTS (w/ 194K miles) is still around, but the water in the upper radiator hose is boiling when i drive. I notice it when i shut it off. Is this a sign of the thermostat going south? The temp. guage shows normal temps while driving.
Any thoughts?
TIA.

Plus make sure the system is completely filled.

nothing yet- only that the original radiator cap didn't fit perfectly onto the after-market radiator i installed last summer. However, i don't have any leaking from the cap. I guess it's possible that a 15 yr old cap could be tired. I will try to find a new cap tonight.
Haven't tried to remove the cap yet because it takes hours for it to cool, so i haven't checked the fluid level.
I'll post my findings.
