Thread: Rainy days, Mondays and CELs

Well got it all back together and now the car ...after being reved up, will hang at 1500rpms then slowly descend to 1200rpms and then pulse between 1000-1100rpms.

I know it's supposed to idle at 900rpms, and I am pretty sure that I put the vacumn lines back in the correct order, however there was a ton of sludge in the offending hole and everywhere else on the manifold top so I am wondering if I now need to re-calibrate my idle?

    Any help is always appreciated

Now that it's cleaned out, you may want to adjust your idle. There's instructions on miata.net garage on how to do so. Don't forget the jumper!

Sounds like there might be a slight vacuum leak too.

Just re-checked the vacumn lines and they look to be right and no leaks.
    I reset the engine light.
When cranking the car it starts with the idle at around 2K
............its just sparatic, I guess I will take it to Gary in a couple of weeks til then I am gonna let it sit so i dont screw something else up.
