Thread: Seafoam question

  1. #1

    Default Seafoam question

I went to Autozone today and picked up some seafoam, but all they had was the deep creep aerosol can. I searched here and the board and I could not find too many refrences to the aerosol type, just another type. Is this the same stuff? or should I make another trip to Autozone to exchange it?

The only one I have used is a can about the size of an aerosol paint can, but it has a screw top.

I've used both liquid and the deep creep. The deep creep is actually easier to regulate the amount of to ensure you don't kill the car prematurely. It is the same chemical in a different delivery.

+1 it even says it on the can "Deep Creep" is Seafoam in a spray can"
I have found though that the last 1/5th usually runs out of propellant and remains wasted in the can.
That being said its real easy just to poke the spray nozzle in and start spraying.

You may want to get some help on this one.

I know that he sprayed it into his throttle body and a vacume line, but I don't know what vacume line.

Your the same kid who couldn't put the wheels on a Ford Focus without busting lugs IIRC. You may want to get some adult supervision to help ya the first time around.

It was the wheel studs, and that is a common problem on focuses. My friend's dad seafoams thier cars like once a year, I just don't know what vacume line to use. There is a diagram on the pointy board, but its hard to tell what is what and its a 93 motor in the diagram

Hey Mick... I heard once that referring to an adult as "kid" is definitive proof that you are over the hill.

If you have Cruise Control, use the C.C vacuum line that runs to the intake manifold. If you don't have C.C., use the capped off nipple on the Intake Manifold that the C.C. would have gone to. On the 1.6, the nipple is front top center (above where the TB attaches)... not sure where the 1.8 nipple is.
