Thread: Hard Top question

  1. #1

    Default Hard Top question

I have a hard top lined up in Houston, I can drive down there, drop the soft top, and use the existing latches and drive back right?

There's another latch I'll have to install eventually?

As long as you have the Frankenstein bolts back near the trunk lid you're good to go. Some folks run their hardtop without the side latches (I did), but others want/like the added security. If you want to use the side latches, you will have to add the striker-plates first.

    Cool.

Since daughter will be taking hers to college (If it survives till then, teen driver & all), I figured a HT would be a good addition to hers to make it a bit more secure.

Double-check with the seller to see if they have the striker plates on their car to pull off. YMMV.

Where does she store the hardtop when she want's the wind in her hair? Dorm rooms are pretty small.
