Thread: It worked!

    Default It worked!

Normally I don't hold to much faith in the repair in a bottle stuff at the autoparts stores. However, I decided to try something to fix the slipping tranny in my Nissan as I'm planning on selling it.

I went to O'Reillys and picked up a bottle that claimed to fix slipping trannys. It was a PITA too as I had to siphon off 12 oz. of ATF to add the 12 oz. of additive. It did nothing.

Since it was the cheap bottle ($3) I decided to go for a more expensive option. ($9) I picked up a bottle of Lucas Transmission fix.

The weird thing is it said to just add it to the existing fluid without any need to drain an equal amount of ATF out. It's 24 oz! I did and let it drain down the tranny dipstick hole.

WOW!!! The tranny doesn't slip and it has more pep than before. If any of you have an OTM with a slipping automatic tranny, I can highly recommend this stuff!

Bonus: I also found a loose vacuum line which I think was the cause of it's interminute stalling at idle.

Now, with the exception of a minor oil leak, the truck is mechanically sound.
    ...and across the line.
