When do I get to go play? Well I'm waiting for a phone call still but it's looking like Wed or Thursday this week.. This apparantly isn't exactly a planned ahead adventure to invite the pre-order guys out..
The cars will be out there for several weeks though, so they'll be there for photgraphs at least..
And why do you say "pointy board?" Thanks for the pictures.. I keep having to wipe the drool off my keyboard.. That's the 1st shots of the titanium I've actually seen.. Glad I like it since I ordered one

Ah, ok... yeah, sometimes I think that board is a tad "overmoderated" I'll agree with that, but then again I hearld from rx7club.com and anything allowed on Cable TV goes there...
I don't expect that it will compare favorably with a well sorted FMII car, but I still imagine it'll be a fun toy... And a good place to go up from there

As to why miata.net is called "the pointy board"... I'm not really sure.That's the semi-affectionate tag I've heard other people use for it. Maybe because they frown on useless chatter (unlike us :P ), so every post is supposed to have a point? At any rate, there are a lot of people who refer to it as "the pointy board", and I guess I'm one of them.

ok, I just got the call so here's what I know...
1st are foremost, (or leastmost) we're not actually going to be able to take the cars around the track ourself for liability measures...
but.. they have a fleet of 26 production level cars out at the ranch for a series of weeks. Tomrrow is the remaining set-up day, and then the rest of this week will be the dealer "immersion" event to train the sales folks. They have the fleet of MSM's some 04 S2ks, a z4 2.5, and an MR2 out there for comparision.
They're using the road course and "pro" driver whatever that means, as well as having an autoX course set up for a comparision of the different vehicles.
The cars there are from the 1st "load" of MSM's that came over here from Japan. They're already here. The 2nd and final load (for the release) will be here within weeks. The actually "release to sales" of these vehicles will be up to the regional sales force based on how quicly they can get them to dealers, but within the 1st couple weeks in April.
The vehciles will remain out at the ranch for ~3 weeks for dealer tech orientation on the specific parts & upgrades to these over regular miatas.
The Program manager, Vehcile line manager and Launch manager will all be out there (and answering questions)
They have all the possible colors & configurations present so I'll get good shots of all of them to post for you guys. Umm, what else...
Basicaly that's what I remeber off the top of my head. I'm planning to head out there tomorrow afternoon barring inclement weather. Otherwise I'll head out there Wed afternoon. I'm sitting in the Rx7 right now charging the battery to go show off my toy :)

I wonder if Freeman Mazda needs any weekend sales help... just for the next couple of weeks.Seriously, wouldn't you love to go test out the MSM along with an S2000, Z4 and an MR-S (OK, maybe not the athletic shoe...er,um,ah... Z4)?
And what's all this silliness about actually training sales people? Has Fazda/Mord lost its mind? First they do this crazy thing call Mazda Rev It Up, to let people actually drive a bunch of their cars, then they have comparative/immersive training on a new car (and its main rivals)? Next it'll be earthquakes, fire from the sky, cats and dogs living together... total chaos!
So, altiain... Tell us about this Mono-posto... I'm curious...

Honestly, you'll probably get more from a google or miata.net search about the Monoposto than you'll get from me, as I don't remember exactly what was done to it. It was also featured in a Road & Track article a few years ago. All I know is that I'll bet it would be a hoot on the track.
