Default Laps for Charity at TMS on 9/9

I've always taken my TSX to each Laps for Charity event at TMS, but I thought I make take the Miata this time. Is anyone else going? If so, what time? Maybe we can all hook up. Anybody want to eat beforehand, like at Babe's or Texas Road House (820, just east of I-35)?

More info at http://www.texasmotorspeedway.com/vi...eedwayCalendar. I always have a fun time, so if you have not been, come try it. It is pretty cool getting the car up on the high banks and there are often some interesting cars out there. A few interesting people, too.

Yes and no. They take the cars out in groups of ten. There is a pace truck at the front, middle, and end. The pace trucks do about 75 mph and you cannot pass them or other cars in your group. I (and many others) will typically hang back on the straights and then get on it going into the turns. I usually hit about 100 in my Acura.

I know that 75 MPH does not sound fast, but it is still a rush going into those turns and going up high on the banks. I have yet to figure out why others will stay at the bottom of the banks.

Try it -- you'll like it.

In the past you've gotten 3 laps for $25. It's for a good cause. I've been out there at least twice, and my miata has seen 100mph in the turns too (I have pictures). One lady paid to drive the school bus around it, it stayed below the apron in the turns.

this year its 30 dollars for 3 laps. I've done this in the past with the DFW Dodge group. Its so much fun I cant wait to do it in the MX5. You can put the top down but must wear seat belts.

    Cool

After talking to my husband, whos club does this every year, he said we need to go to the speedways site. we can then arrange to have the club meet at the track, preregester, and go out as a club. pass this info to whoever deals with this stuff. they will need a head count i think.
lewts all do this. sounds like fun!!!
