Angry Luck ran out..1st and 2nd Texas tickets issued

Well, I had to take today off from work to deal with getting my car to pass inspection. I decided a Seafoam treatment was in order. After running it through and letting it sit for 2 hours, I went out to run the piss out of it per instructions. The very polite Denton County Constable in his un-marked gray sedan made no mention of the white smoke billowing out from the back of my car but but he was none too happy with my speed and lack of front plate.

55 in a 35 AND a no front plate ticket.

Gioffredi & Associates still the recommended firm to keep it off of my record?

Sure thing, Todd. And c'mon -- cops in Krispy Kreme hats are funny!

To make it up to you, I'll tell you who the guy who offices next to me recommends. He was chief prosecutor in Dallas for 11 years.

To quote his email "Newton and Berloff. Good guys. They'll charge $75."

    Titus,

I'd recommend taking the Defensive Driving Class through the Improv comedy club.

It's fun and it's CB approved - Most insurance companies will give you a discount on your rates for 3 years which will MORE than offset the cost of the course.

Oh - and it gets the speeding ticket off your driving record. The no plate ticket is no big deal.

See if you can get "deferred adjudication". Some will let ya have it others will not.

BTW. I'm on deferred adjudication in Hurst right now!

OK... you had recommended Gioffredi & Associates in an older thread... So Everett Newton is the man of the hour? I think I have heard him on 105.3 a few times.

I have since received some clarification. Gioferredi is great for attorneys because they fix attorney tickets for free. Apparently Newton is better for paying customers. I'm sure either would do a good job, though.

Put the plate on, go to court to get it dismissed.

It's up to you on the speeding ticket.

You might want to follow up on that. It would suck if it was a glitch and they issued a warrant.

I've always used Ted Tatarevich in Bedford.

$40 per ticket, and on my last Tollway ticket he managed to knock $45 off the fine cost, so it saved me $5 in the long run and got me deferred adjudication.

Mention my name if you call - I'm angling for "refer five, get one free" on my next ticket.

    Agreed.

As for the ticket, take the deferred and don't do it again... remember, we now have points in the state of Texas!

Yes, we do... but not for simple speeding.

Under a certain percentage (I forget what it is) you won't get points for speeding.

Bummer about the tickets. $149. for no front plate is a rip off.

What about the inspection? Did the seafoam trick work?

Actually, they can take you to jail for not running a front plate. They can't for simple speeding, but NFP is a jailable offense if the cop is feeling surly enough.
