    Default Ummm...errr....well?

Not sure about this... but my initial thought is:

    LINK

Executives of General Motors Corp. and Ford Motor Co. have discussed a possible merger or alliance, the trade journal Automotive News reported Monday. Both companies declined comment.

I'll guess we'll have to start ragging on VW owners since GM and Ford are going to be in bed together. (Honduh owners are already a given)

If this happens. Oh gawd, I hope it doesn't happen! It will be the beginning of the end for both if they merge. It's just wrong! Even more wrong than Chrysler and Mercedes. These two companies are great American institutions They need to be seperate.

Haven't you noticed it's now the American way to merge/buyout. Soon we will all be working for the USA Corporation (located in India somewhere)

Nah, that's just where the customer service center will be located. The headquarters will be in Osaka.

Well... I heard on the news this morning that GM and Ford have "officially" decided to halt their talks on this matter.

So... no Z71 F-150's, no Z06 Mustangs, and no Duramax F-250's...

Thank gawd! Seriously. That would have been the end of two great American companies.

I think it would be OK If they slashed at least a third of the models out there, picked best of breeds, and reorganized the brands. The only problem area would be trucks, as I think it is good to have more choices there where they excel and have less foreign competition.

Nissan and Toyota seem to be figuring out the truck part at a rapid rate. IMHO, this one should really scare both GM and Ford.

Can/do Nissan and Toyota make a superior truck? Absolutely. Will the average American hick ever consider buying one? Doubtfully.
