I like LaGrave field.
Maybe we'll call itMS in honor of the ball team and all the
s that were there.
Matt mentioned the possibility of night runs next season, so let's keep our fingers crossed.
What about rain? Even if it rains at other sites, we can still run with little worry of damage, but if La Grave Field gets as slick as TMS (La Gravy Field?), then it could make the light poles very trecherous. Just something to consider.
Also, we have MR (or MineralRing), BMS, and TMS. What will we call La Grave? North Fort Worth International Motor Speedway, or just NFWIMS?![]()
OzCop, sorry to hear about your event cancellation.
I'm curious about LaGrave too, since I was in Louisiana nursing a wedding reception hangover Sunday morning. How does the site compare with the Bus Lot or Pennington, size-wise? What was the surface grip like for cars with fenders? (
)
A sixty-second course (especially one where the CSP cars are nudging 8k on the tach) sounds promising. The fewer events we run next season at “Postage Stamp” Pennington, the happier I’ll be.
Speaking of CSP cars, anyone want to explain to those who couldn’t make it what happened to Mark52’s car?

I had alot of fun. I really need new tires, though. Mabye for Christmas. Iian, you should ask Jon about his 60mph backwards 360.

Miatamoto started it on fire a couple of times, I think he was just being mean to Mark52! But I still have my eyebrows.
The Pep Boys Breather filter on Mark52's valve cover was dumping oil directly on the headers..... So when Miatamoto drove up to me there was a lovely orange glow coming out from under the hood.
IIRC Miatamoto was singing, "We don't need no water let the![]()
burn."
He is a bad man!
The portion of the lot that we were using seemed to be similar to the bus lot in size but longer and a little less in width. There is a possiblity to use the area that was the paddock and move the paddock to the other lot near the stadium. That would make for some really fun courses.
The grip was nice on V710s. Of course this was my first time in Mark's car, but the grip was good, definitely above the bus lot. The pavement relatively smooth and consistent, so it's not going to chew up tires like MW.
The course could have had some more technical aspects too it, but I think they were concerned with light poles and a fence on the last straight. I was very close to 8k RPM on one of the straights and going through the timing lights.
As far as CSP cars go, there is a little breather filter on the valve cover. At high RPMs it was starting to puke a little oil right onto the header. So as soon as the car slowed down after the finish it would start to smoke. A TRD heat shield or a catch can will solve the problem.

I just looked at the cats schedule for next year and it looks like there is plenty of open time on Sundays next year.
Wow looks like we had some shuffling in the year end point up to the very last minute for a few classes!
As you can see by the results and the year end points, there some upsets and some drama.
The last car to run, Todd M., cranked off a FABULOUS time, breaking the 60 second mark in STS and therefore setting the tie we have in STS for the champ.
otherwise it would have been Wayne first and Todd second.
Awesome, that is racing folks!
look at Novice too, Ann L. won the class on Sunday.
Chris F. took 4th but it was not enough for him to hold on to the top spot Novice for the year and Ann walks away with the prize. WOW! from out of nowhere. Do we have a future female national champ in our midst? woo hoo!
In GS Jeremy F. with his win was able to climb to 3rd in points. Doug and Clement are tied in the points for first.
SS...
Well thanks Stuart for winning, with a 55.5!! wow!, that prevented the 3 way tie in the points, but allowed David S. in the Elise to move into second for the year.
That's all I can think of for now.
Stay tuned for more as I think of it.
To post for Novice year end.
Chris Fain had 42 points coming into the event. With a 4th place finish, that gives me 47 points. Anne needed one more event to catch me. But am waiting for final posting from SCCA site. From what I was told, all I really needed was one point to keep Anne off my heels.
Nope,
Haven't seen results either.
At trophies, a guy by the name of Elvin placed 1st. Ann 2nd. Two other guys and myself placing fifth. Yeah, PAX has a way of blowing the good raw times right out of the water.
Anyway, after event #8; I had 42 pts. Dan w/ 33, and Ann at 31 pts.
So the way I understand it, is Dan DQ'd to a previous engagement. Shame because he is the official title holder. Ann would then have 38 to my 46.
I am still going to have to wait for official word from the guys above.
I don't know anymore, these last three events have been nothing but controversy anyway.
What I do know, Ann and I have become good friends through all this and have had a great time cheering each other on. She took the top podium spot w/ ER to me coming in second w/ two less events than her. She gets a trophy (I do not because I did not run enough events) Sucks to have found out about ER so late. But what are you gonna do right?
Thanks to Marc Cameron and Lore Stolz for inspiration and advice.
Thanks to all for showing what this sport is REALLY all about.
Dang,
really should proof read before submitting.
Loren, sorry to have butchered you name when giving thanks.
Looking forward to meeting more of you good folks here.![]()
