I have put 39K on my '05 MSM in 15 months. 150K on My 99 Nissan Frontier and 37K on a '04 Honda Civic Hybrid that I traded in for the MSM after 20 months of drivin'.

All total 225K in 6.5 years of the three vehicles owned. That totals about 34,500 per year.

Before I moved to the metro-mess, I used to put 45K/yr on a vehicle. The manager at the local Walmart lube center new what day I would be coming in and would have the ticket already filled out before I got in the bay.

My record is 10k in 26 days.

Dec 1 flipped 90k, Dec 26 flipped 100k. That was all driving around DFW, too. Well, except for the one trip to the OK border and back.

Yeah, when gas was cheap. I would fill up for $20, drive till it was empty (326miles) and then fill up again, just doing my "loop(about 280miles)" around DFW. Some days I would do it twice, sometimes I would just do the Dallas section again.

I'd like to see gas reciepts for that.
Wow. I was already bringing up the gas issue before you edited it. Yeah, when gas was CHEAP. I was still doing my loop every weekend until gas got over $2/gal. Then it was too expensive to just drive!! BASTARDS!

That's 6+ hours a day, riding around... endlessly. Sounds a bit far fetched...
Well, I was 17 and out of School (GED) and working nights at Whataburger. Actually, considering I spent more time over 100 then under back in those days, it didn't really take that much time. I live right by Pennington FLD (everyone knows where that is, AutoX course), actually the school next to is where I went for Elem. I would get on there (Central), go N. on 121 till I hit 635, take 635 to 75, down to the West End. That was the first leg.

Then I would hit 35 back to 635 all the way around 635 to 20 to 820 to 183 and home. That is 280 miles.

Sometimes I go 35 to 183 to 360, all the way down till it ended near Broad St, then back up to 30, back into Dallas, back up 75 to 635 to 121 and then downtown Ft. Worth. Then 30 to 820N to 183 and home.

635 back then was the AUTOBAHN!!! So was 360. The cops only sat in the Median near Mayfield, and sometimes by the golf course. So I would just go 100+ the whole way between them.

    I LOVE DRIVING. That's why I like my job. I do 250-280 miles a day 5 days a week.

Oh, and me and my buddy (there for all but maybe 100 of those miles) would leacve around 10pm and get back in time for him to leave for school at 8. Of course we also sat and BS'd at IHOP for 3-4 hrs everynight, too.

I have ALOT of driving stories from back then. Like going 110 on I30 in the fog at 3am and seeing a pair of brakelights way in the distance. Found out it was a semi-trailer that was in my lane, requiring a quick lane change. I was asking my friend, "why the fuck can I see lights that far off in the fog, OH SHIT"

Back then I didn't wait for anything, I would dart thru traffic at 110 all day and never worry about slowing down. Of course, 10 yrs ago there was less traffic, and the times I was driving it was pretty open. Not like now, where trying to go 70 on 360 at 2 am requires constant lane-changes and slowing down cause of all the other cars.

I worked as a courier for 6 months averaging around 330 miles a day, 5 days a week. I loved it, but after 6 months, 45k miles, and $1500 in gas, I realized that I just couldn't make enough money to make it work.
