Thread: Surgery next wednesday

  1. #1

    Default Surgery next wednesday

I remember watching a PBS special some years back about a poor unfortunate soul who had a deviated septum...they took care of it with a chissel and hammer.
Seems like I have a deviated septum, polyps and a large cyst that needs repairs, the Dr. reassures me that they no longer use the hammer technique....lol
Anyway if I don't see you guys in a while on the board that's why.
    Merry "early" Christmas everyone

If you were as slow as me, you wouldn't be afraid either.

Let us know how the septum thing works out. I have the same issue. Good luck with it.

I had a cousin whose deviated septum got him out of the Army. Guess that won't be an issue for you.

Hope you recover quickly. Merry Christmas.

My deepest sympathies for you my friend! 2yrs ago I took a hockey puck to the nose and that was the abolute worst surgery/painful miserable experience I've ever been through...even worse than achille's tendon surgery and having a 1/4 in hole punched completely through my calf! Then again my deviated septum was repaired along with the rest of my nose being shattered from the puck so hopefully your's will be less horrible. Over a week with huge splints shoved up both nostrils sewn together through the septum and cotton suffed all the way up into your upper sinus cavities! Happy Happy Joy Joy!
    Good luck man!

Good luck Billy, I work in a recovery room, and our ENT docs do surgery like that frequently, you'll wake up with a drip pad under your nose (a 2x2 gauze pad) taped in place.

They'll give you lots of drugs, and you won't remember a thing

Be sure to grab a cute nurse's ass after they give you the initial sedative
