AGXs and stock springs are a pretty good combination. I ran them when my car was in E-stock. I kept the damping low to and from events and it was as/more comfortable than the stock shocks.
Crank up the damping and you can really stiffen up the ride. They're hard to beat for the money. Plus, I finally got to drive Mark52's CSP car which has AGXs and Ground Control coilovers. I was very impressed with how they handled the higher spring rates.
Sorry, no experience with the GR-2 except in for in a Mazda 626 back in high school. They were a big improvement in handling for my friend's car over the stock shocks.
