When I use paypal I always pay with my credit card. That way I can dispute it with the CC company.
I just think of paypal as a way that private sellers can accept CCs.
Sorry about that scammer and thanks for the warning.
Of using Paypal? I got screwed over ebay recently. I ordered a movie and it never got shipped. The seller even replied to one email when I asked where it was, but then disappeared. I sent a complaint to paypal and the resolved it in my favor, but couldnt return my funds. I was under the impression that paypal will pull funds out of your account if they want. Why wont they do that for me? Granted it was only 13 bucks but it is still stupid to me. So anyway stay away from anyone using an email similar to [email protected]

I thought they could return up to $200 minus a $25 service fee... so $175... so never big purchases if you're feeding it from a debit card.
But man that sucks!
Ebay to me seems like its starting to get too big for itself. On a lot of items now you can either get it for cheaper from an e-tailer or just in the damn store for close to the same price.
Used car parts and certain things its still king on when the seller is legit.

Did Paypal say why they couldn't return your funds???
Most times that's because there is no bank or credit card account associated with that PayPal account... or the one that is has been closed. This means that there isn't a source for PayPal to "pull the funds from" to reimburse him.
