Thread: First stupid thing I've done so far

Default First stupid thing I've done so far

Naturally the first thing I do is change the oil, no problem. Then the rear diff gear oil, being careful to make sure I can open the filler plug before draining (learned that here!) However I didn't follow that advice with the transmission fluid and now I've got an empty tranny and can't get that stubborn square bolt loose.

My question is: can I start it up and drive it up my ramps? Will that hurt anything to move it the two feet or so? I need more room for leverage.

    Yea, but make it quick!

I also don't believe this is the first stupid thing you have ever done.

It won't hurt it. I know some racers that will drain the tranny and rear for qualifying....less drag=more horse power!

Oh no, this isn't the first stupid thing I've done, just the first stupid thing I've done with this car.

Let's see if we can talk Onething into trying this as the next AX. He's old and easily persuaded.

I'm printing this and putting it in the AX trailer now so I won't forget to recalibrate all three of you with my staff.

Don't worry Titus, the staff is water-proof.

Wow, I knew people like Keith run oil so thin they might as well not put any in it, but didn't think they would do that! So is this why it is near impossible to find a used rear-end that isn't crap?

Is that the whole pumpkin or just the internals? If its for a 1.6 rear end, I have all the space and tools etc to assist you! Give me a time and I will be there or you can come over here!
