Default JR's Custom Auto It Is!

I don't want to get into bashing shops here, but Autosound and Earmark didn't work out. The stereo install will be done by JR's Custom Auto in Irving. Great customer service, immaculate shop, excellent pricing -- they're the complete package. We will find out next weekend whether they do good work, but given what I saw in the shop I'm not worried.

So what pieces did you decide on?

    Kenwood KDC-X689 HU w/Sirius
    JL 500/5 amp
    JL XR 6.5s front
    JL VR 6.5s rear
    Boston W2 sub

Should make for a nice, tight, clean system on a good budget.

Like the head-unit That amp will be nice to have, rather than having to run 2. Where are you putting the tweeters?

    Oh, and one more ?

For the rears, is it the VR650-CXi or VR650-CSi? I assume the CXi, as the CSi has the tweeter separated from the woofer. If it's the CSi, how are they planning on getting that tuned properly?

System is in and car is in the garage. It sounds ridiculously good (to me). I also had them install an alarm that works with the factory in-key remote, which is a neat trick.

I'll post pics once we get the dash kit replaced in a week or so. They've been having a rash of slightly poorly fitting Civic dash kits.

Sweet Jesus this thing is loud yet clear as a bell. I honestly can't imagine what it would have sounded like with a 300/4 and 500/1 for amps. The 500/5 is a beast.

Hopefully I can get mine done sometime soon and then we can get together and compare
