That's sweet. Too bad it doesn't sound like they're going to bring it here.

I'm still disappointed that VW changed their minds about bringing the GX-3 to market. That would have been one sweet ride, and the business case was watertight. Too bad the lawyers ended up cutting it to ribbons...

But instead, it will cash in on the thrill-seeking image of the Austrian motorbike specialist.
...before a limited run of 100 Italian-made versions goes on sale for around £27,000.
Did I miss something, or have I just not had enough coffee this morning? In any case, I always liked the KTMs (back when I was riding). This looks like a lot of fun. It's a shame they're not bringing it here, but with that price tag, I wouldn't be getting one anway

The comment about not bringing it to market is about the 3-wheel VW concept in the photo above. And indeed it had a great business case. Cost per vehicle was tiny, and even if only the few, crazy, hardcore sportscar folks bought them they'd make a ton of money on the car. But like Iain said, the lawyers had to rain on the parade.

Well if you like the little 3 wheeled VW. You should look into a T-Rex.
I think there used to be a Dallas distributor. And the T-Rex could hold 2G on the skid pad. That's equal to a Carrera GT.

Yeah, but the GX-3 target price was $17k. A T-rex costs $39k. One is a whole lot easier to justify than the other for something that is a pure toy, at least for me.

I didn't realized the VW was going to be so cheep.
Of course, I seem to remember the sticker price of the Miata was supposed to be $13k.

Well, in 1990 the Base MSRP was $13,800...

Yes, but no dealer was selling it at that. IIRC it was between 19K and 22K.
