It's in response to a rash of car thefts because poor widdle soccer moms can't stand the cold.

Idiots deserve the ticket and to get their car stolen.

My tax dollars are supposed to go towards catching the bad guys stealing the cars, not to penalize soccer moms. On my property, if I want to warm up my car, leave it unlocked or accidentally leave my keys inside, then that is my risk and my perogative.
Reminds me of an incident a few years ago, when the school bus carrying my 14 year old daughter was rear-ended by another driver. Although the bus was barely even tapped, the paramedics showed up and examined her and the other passenger. A few days later, she received a bill from the City of Bedford for $500 for emergency medical treatment.
Punishing/blaming the victim is bad policy to follow when government is unable to fulfill its obligations to its citizens.

That's different. But these poor bastards in the video had them stolen from their driveway. No different than if they came into the house through an unlocked door or open garage.
