Default Best place to buy pocket PC?

We've got enough techno people on here I'm sure someone can help me with this...

I'm looking to buy a pocket PC in the next month or so. My primary requirements are that it be Bluetooth enabled, have an SD card slot, and run Windows Mobile 5.0 or later. I'd also like one that can double as an mp3 player. The 416 MHz Dell Axim X51 was recommended.

I'm buying this thing to run a MaxQData data acquisition system in the car this season. Since I don't really need it for anything else, I'd rather not spend a fortune. I'd prefer to buy new. Where's the best place to look?

Yeah, but I don't have a laptop either.

Besides, this unit actually doesn't actually store any data, it is just a sensor and transmitter. I need to have a laptop or pocket PC physically in the car with me during the run to capture data. I can velcro a pocket PC into one of the three center cubbies in the RX-8. I'd have a much harder time securing a laptop.

They ain't cheap, eBay is another good place to look.

Honestly, for that kind of money, I'd be tempted to just slap together a carputer.

If you don't want to order your Axim online, you can search for a local store here. If you aren't set on the Axim, I'd recommend Office Depot for your pocket pc. I'd stay away from Best Buy or Circuit City, I think their prices are too high.

You could also get you a Treo 700W from Verizon and have the phone built in. It has bluetooth, SD card slot, and broadband access. There are also a bunch of accesories out there for it that work. It is based on the treo 650 and most of the accesories for the 650 sould work on the 700.

Just make sure if you buy it not to get the 700W confused with the 700P. The difference being that the W is Windows and the P is Palm based. The battery on the Treo is also able to be change like a cell phone battery.

Nope, no carputer for me. One of the benefits of this system is portability. I can transfer it from car to car very quickly and easily. Couldn't do that with something hardwired into the car.
