Thread: MME Octoberfest! Road Trip! October 16, 2004

    What a trip!

A little too fast for Robin's taste though.

I took 57 5mega-pixel pics at the car show... even one of the girl in the chained-off area in the building

If anyone wants copies, I'll have to burn 'em to CD as that's 144mb of pictures.

Of course, if anyone has pics to send me that they took of the TRIP, I'd like 'em as I was too busy driving to take pics!

Well Robin did do a pretty good job keeping those of us behind her well withing the posted limits. Next time you may want to give her the more powerful VVT equipped Miata!

It was a great trip, neat cars, good food, good folks, and a great route!

Thanks to everyone for helping us put together such a fun day! We will have to do it again real soon!

Thanks to everyone that came out! It was great to see lots of new and old faces!

We battled traffic where we expected to - what with the pumpkin patch & the IRL event at TMS, but we got to open up and enjoy the best stretches of two lane.

It sounded like we had a bunch of well behaved drivers throughout the pack, and the Center in Muenster did a great job of feeding us lunch!

The Collin County crew wound up with the absolute best roads, though. However, clovis and I discovered that the new surface on FM 455 east of 289 leaves a bit to be desired...

Hopefully we've got a complete count of cars and folks somewhere. Mokey and I certainly had a great time and we look forward to doing this again. If anyone is interested in putting a trip together but needs some help with routing, directions or ideas, please let me know! I'll be more than happy to follow next time around!

Well, she's not one for breakneck speeds (80-100mph) that were being done to keep up...

I thought that was why were were to read the big post about how to drive like The Pace

The drive was fun, but was a little too much for her taste, not her car. I can vouch for that as it used to be my car and I made it from the North end of OKC to my house in Lewisville (WITH a stop for gas and bio break) in 2:22!

Fun times today!! My Lil' Blue Devil finally got it's chance to break into some "honest" speeds for the first time, it was certainly fun.

If you guys can, send all the pics you've taken to me. Just send them to my email [email protected]. I'm sitting on 2.0GB worth of email box space. :)

Ya know... it occurs to me that I'm forgetting the most crucially hilarious moment of the entire trip...

The sound of 20-odd Miata and S2000 horns blasting as altiain took a whiz behind some poor bastard's house... Now that's comedy, y'all...

    That was classic!

It was a beautiful day, a great drive and a great turn-out too! Kudos to tailchaser and POS for putting it together. Kudos also to Kestrel for his custom name tags!

I quickly came to the realization that I really miss my Azenis on the street!

Great Run, It turned out to be a wonderful day for a drive. Nice to meet some of the S2K people, there were two nice looking yellow's who came on the run. Hey I think the people in the house were watching Altiain.
    Thanks Tailchaser and POS

Big props to tailchaser! What a great day...cool car show, fun drive, excellent lunch and a perfect top-down day. You guys put on an excellent event - heck, pre-printed name tags and everything!

The drive back from Tioga to Plano was especially fun - best roads of the day IMHO. You Westerners missed some great fun! I'll post some of my photos when I get a chance.

Great job TC and everyone else at MME!!!

Here's a photo for tailchaser to show my thanks for planning the drive...I can't believe you made us wait while you had your nails done!

And here is one of the man himself (no, not TC, Mr. Shelby of course!)

More to come when I don't have to deal with a 56K dial-up.

Boy does all that driving and fresh air make me tired...I think I just slept for aobut 10 hours. Thanks to everyone involved, I look forward to joining the group more often for these kinds of things.

Also, I have several gigs worth of web hosting through my work, so, if anyone needs a place to host pictures, just let me know!

We had 43 People sign the waiver!

Looks like we had 15 Miatas and 12 S2K's!

About the only thing I'd change is the stop at Fischer's Grocery store after lunch. That seemed like a waste of time!

I had a great time - perect weather and a great drive, once we got past the pumpkin patch in Flower Mound.

As for the house incident, what can I say? When nature calls...
