October 16th REALLY needs to be on your calendar. In big red letters. Why?

Two words. Unique Performance. Excited yet? How about these words. Texas Shelby Continuation Facility? Breathing hard yet? Take a look at this link. If you've watched any of the automotive programming on TLC (or have a pulse) you might recognize some of the cars or a name or two from the flyer.

Whether you meet with us and participate in the drive to follow, you want to see this show. Did I mention that it's free to the public?

I'd like for us to meet up around 9:30 at my office near the corner of Valley View/Luna Rd (I-35/I-635) in Dallas so that we can pull in as a group for the requisite style points.

Once we finish drooling, we'll head up to Muenster for a German lunch (otherwise, it just wouldn't be Octoberfest, now would it?) and an exploration of some more Texas countryside.

Mark your calendars and let us know if you plan to attend. A head count will be REQUIRED for lunch since the preferred restaurants have limited seating.

    Hey Tailchaser...

How about an address/map for your office?

Actually, I was going to suggest a couple of things -- all of which I'm sure tailchaser has already thought about. First, while tailchaser's original post gives us a general idea of what the "event" will be, how about a little more detail... something like:
    • - Meet at blah, blah, office at Valley View and Luna at 9:30am, and head to the Shelby Thingy.
      - Look around there until approximately _______ am/pm, and head to Muenster.
      - In Muenster, have lunch at _______ restaurant, where reservations will be made for _______am/pm.
      - After lunch, have some fun driving around Muenster.
      - Head back south and arrive back where we started at about ______pm.
We don't need event maps or complete details yet (tailchaser does a fantastic job with this when you meet in the morning of the event), but I'd like a general idea of the plan. I also need to have a reasonably good idea of how many hours we'll be away, so the babysitter knows how much money I'm gonna have to pay her.

Second, I was going to suggest that all us South Oklahoma folks (otherwise known as Frisco/Allen/McKinney/North Plano ) meet somewhere and "caravan" down to the general meeting spot. We could meet somewhere for breakfast -- say, McDonalds at 121 and Preston at 8:15am? -- and then head to tailchaser's office at 35/635 together. It will take us about 25 minutes to drive to Luna and Valley View, which means leaving McDonalds at 9:00am to get to the Group Meeting Spot (GMS) by 9:30am.

Anyway, it looks like this could be a huge event, with 14 Miatas and 8 or more S2000s ....

I can help with some of the details, but we are still 12 days out so we may do slight modifications.

      - In Muenster, have lunch at The Center restaurant, where reservations will be made for 12:00 pm.
      - After lunch, have some fun driving around Muenster.
      - Head back south and arrive back where we started at about Variable pm.
As for the Variable part, you can bail as soon as lunch is over in Muenster if you need too, but we plan to head towards Tioga with more to follow if you’d like!

Keep in mind if you don't tell us your coming your not going !

Yeah - me. I've responded in this thread and the one on the S2k board. Dunno if the wife will be making it or not, and likely won't know until the day of, so put me down for two and I"ll just sit on two chairs at the restaurant if she doesn't come.

Who knows? Maybe I'll even have a radio again by then.

As you wish, but the restaurant serves lots of other stuff... including hamburgers. Remember, it's not the food, it's the company. :P

You should have saved the money for the carwash and used it for lunch! :P

Good luck finding a McD's in Muenster, Texas! We are running up and back on the back roads, not a lot of dining selections at your disposal!

Also make sure you start the day with a full tank of gas!
