Thread: Wrenching session tonight, 4/6 ??

Default Wrenching session tonight, 4/6 ??

I have some Mazdaspeed motor mounts that I am probably going to try and install tonight. If someone with diff swapping experience shows up, I may try to tackle the torsen. If not, I will probably put it off another few weeks. Anyone?

Dang, if I didn't already have plans (and you didn't ruin the S2K autocross ) I'd definitely help

Here are my suggestions from when I did them:

    1. Go ahead and remove the header for the driver side mount. I'm guessing this is going to be hard for you b/c of the supercharger. This made the driver side much easier for me.

    2. On the passenger side, I did everything from the wheel well with extensions and wobble joints. This side went very quickly.

    Good luck.

Wow... I may not do it tonight then... didn't think I would need to get that deep.

I did mine without removing the header. I just took the mount apart and it came out like I needed. That is on a 99 though so I might have more room. I did it all from under the car.

That was what I was thinking. I'm all for digging in if i can get it done from underneath. I have to pull the supercharger to pull the header.... I have done this a few times before and it is an hour to get them out and another hour to put all the bits and pieces back. If that needs to happen, I would just assume wait till I need to pull everything anyway for another reason.

The toughest part was getting the two halves of the mount apart without the benefit of a bench vice.
