So, as most of you know the RX-7 was delivered to its new owner Monday last week. Timing happened to be really good and I found a great RX-8 for a great price on Wednesday. I wanted to surprise you guys with it Tuesday night, but the 30 page paper I have due next week is kicking my butt.
I ended up picking up a grey '06 base RX-8 with 6K miles on it. I was debating on trying to find a sport package/performance package with traction control, HIDs and fogs, but I could care less about the fogs, always found myself turning off the traction control on the M3 (until I removed it) and I'll probably add some aftermarket HIDs sometime.
The car is bone stock minus the Voodoo knob from the Miata (don't like the feel of the triangle shift oem knob) and my ricey SCCA stickers.
I know it must seem like I'm jumping on the B-stock band wagon, but I'm going to continue running the CSP car. The problem is that it will never be competitive at Nationals. So when I decide to go, it might be in a RX-8.
I've wanted an RX-8 since I drove apex2apex's car on a fun run last year. Thanks a lot man!I dont' think there's a better performance car out there for the money.

I was sold on my first drive! Even without the R-comps. I've probably run 5 runs or so in apex2apex's car (some stock, some on the wider falkens), 1 with yours on R-comps, and 3 on Joe's with the springs and shocks on Falkens. All of them have been great.You know what's kind of funny? Sorry, I'm not going to make it to Walnut Ridge. I'm just too busy right now. I'm not even going to make Houston and the Pro Solo this year. I'm pretty upset about it, but I'm going to try to make all the divisionals this summer.I'd love to see you try.
BTW, I think I'm going to try a set of Hankook Z214s. They've been perfecting the compound and tire construction from what I've heard and they are just a little bit cheaper than 710s since the Kumho price hike! The better gearing and width of the 225/45/13 size doesn't hurt either.

I did think that my next car after my 2000 se was going to be an RX-8. I wanted one so bad. When I was in Florida I had the car salesman offer to have someone steal my car and burn it to the ground just so he could get me in one. (I was to far upside down in the car at the time and the insurance/gap insurance would cover the total cost of the car) I thought about it really hard and elected not to go that route, even though I was really tempted.....A few months later that dealership got shut down by the police for shady dealings....
