Thread: Killed In Action

    Default Killed In Action

Took my Miata in to get the hail damage repaired today. Insurance is paying for a rent car.

I'm stylin' in a KIA Sportage.

I guess it's ok for a rental but I can't imagine making payments on one. B-O-R-I-N-G describes it well but add a cheap feeling to it as well.

I'll be driving it tonight to the GTG and NO we will not Ghost Ride it.
    ...and across the line.

Better yet (this way TC doesn't have to bring a can of matte black spray paint with him) let's just roll the damn thing on it's top.

I guarantee with four, maybe five fellas, we'll be able to put it on it's roof (or at least it's doors!)

You better show up tonight. I would like to drive your car. I've never driven an S2K.

Hey BR..........Suzan says she's going to come over and beat your ass!! She loves driving her Sportage. It is the V6 leather option with heated seats and a sunroof and 6cd changer. She has had it for 15K and not one thing wrong with it. So if you see a hot soccer Mom in your rear view in a jet black Sportage...watch out
I live where even the coyotes won't go...

I had the "handbrake roulette" Ford Escort for a week in '95 while my Z28 was in the body shop (Doran Chevrolet had to put a new front bumper cover on it because they tore it up BACKING IT OFF THE DAMN TRUCK!!!). Needless to say, the Escort was the object of my frustration. It came back with flat-spotted tires (Roulette), dents in the hood (Dukes of Hazzard style entry slides), dents in the roof (my friend decided to jump up on top of the car - alcohol may have been involved), hideously warped brake rotors, and a little bit of puke down the passenger side (jumping on top of the car may agitate one's tummy). Then we had the off road excursions (almost turned it over in a freshly plowed field), the jaunt through the corn field at 2AM (kinda bumpy, but hey, free corn), and the Conservation of Momentum driving style (don't slow down, you'll never get it back).

I pity the fool that bought that one from the Enterprise fleet...

That reminds me of the Colin Mcrae impression I did once. I was driving back to the main road from skydiving. So these were straight dirt roads with 90 degree turns back to the highway. I was flying along and handbrake sliding through every turn. We got onto the highway about 1/2 mile and had a flat. I still dont know what caused it. There was also the time we took the intake tube off of the rental cavalier and closed it off with our hands. That suffocated the engine and make it die after a few seconds. The next start up resulted in a ton of black smoke out of the back of the car. That was funny. Ofcourse there are 50,000 miles worth of tire in a few parking lots too.

There's just something sadistically enjoyable about beating the living crap out of someone else's POS...
