Default Things to do and see in Montreal?

    Hey guys and gals,

I'm going to be in Montreal all of next week for a training seminar, and it looks like I'm going to have a couple of afternoons free to roam about the city. I've never been to Montreal, and I don't know the first thing about it. To compound things, I don't speak a lick of French (and I've been told my English ain't so great, either. ). However, I will have a rental car, if there is something noteworthy within driving distance.

If you had some time to kill up there, what would you do or see?

Montreal is a cool city. I've been there 3 times. You'll find it is the best or perhaps only place in Quebec that accepts non-french speaking visitors. Montreal is probably the most often used immigration port to Canada so you can find a neighborhood resembling any foreign culture you can think of; similar to New York. The strip clubs... well the first time I was there I was 14, so that was out. Second time was on my honeymoon so I didn't partake. Third time I was so damn busy with work stuff I only spent one evening searching and certainly didn't find anything to rave about.

no. My nappy-headed ho of a boss realized that those classes were just a ing waste of money. *

This is for a hydraulics design and simulation class.

The Biodome is kinda lame if you're over 12.

Might as well recommend hanging out in the Metro stations or exploring the Underground City. meh

Well, I've heard Montreal is beautiful, but you could've fooled me. It's about 30 outside right now with gusting snow. Meh.
