The company that makes that car (Tamiya) had a championship series for these cars, called the TCS. It has rules pretty close to what you've set here.

Very cool find! I like all of the rules except for the "silver can motor only (Mabuchi or Johnson)". Apparently a $30 stock class motor makes a huge difference in performance.

It's the differnce between a RadioShack slow R/C car and some thing like my Team Losi XX buggy. Even though it's 11 years old, it can still run circles around any Shack car.

Hell, I'll bring it tonight and we can race. Now if I can just find some tires that can get traction on a parking lot.....

Yeah, I have been planning on building a miata for that series (can't get enough racing as it is!) if I can ever get that F1 car sold.

Anybody pick one of these up? I think my F1 car might be sold so I did some shopping. Its the HPI NB. I just have the body now, but the car wont be far behind.

Cool... The Tamiya kit comes with a spacer that can lengthen the wheelbase if the HPI body is not the same length.

What is the wheelbase for the Tamiya one? The HPI NB is 225mm
