Default a nasty sm wreck at hallett today

It was actually a horrendous wreck. Two cars got together at the start. The green one hit the tire wall and rolled onto the roof, but the driver walked away. Another car went into the tire wall, and got airborne...but there was a guy standing on teh tire wall (teh ok miata sm tech guy)taking pictures. He went airborne when the car hit him...then to the hospital. He's going to be ok though. Kinda makes me want to put a cage in the car.

    Gotta LOVE the safety gear!

Hope that guy on the tire wall is OK.

Every COMMA race was close as hell. It was a good day of racing, but a little warm.

It was pretty gruesome, but he was coherent and able to carry on a conversation.

damn i saw that car running yesterday, almost hit a stang, a z06 and an atom out there my self going into the bitch, they all tried to dive boom off the straght not knowing a miata only has to heel tow into it, no real breaking needed, atom over shot the turn and into the tire wall, front wing was gone, the guy driving it was the worst driver there.

Seriously. It was frightnening to watch him on the track.

It would seem even 'babying' an Atom would get you great track times. lol

Hey, were you one of the Vette guys inside complaining about him? If so, I was the one that agreed with you about how bad the guy was out there.

oh yeah, and after the feature race yesterday, the 997 gt car decided to run with the hst group...it was interesting. There was also an early rx7 dumping fuel in the corners all over the track. I couldn't wait to get around that guy.

Default Have I seen that before?

Altiain, where did your Miata go when you sold it? I know there are about 4.15million Green NB's with hardtops, but http://i12.tinypic.com/66yrlzn.jpg looks erily familiar...

That was my first thought, but I believe Altian's car is still being actively autocrossed down in the Houston area.

It's actually the wheels that caught my eye...

Yeah, my car was bought by a guy in Houston who is still actively autocrossing it. I hope I'll get a chance to check up on it later this month during the Houston Tour. I never owned a set of wheels like the ones on the SM in question (although that's probably the only set of wheels I never owned for that car ).

I need to make time to bring the '8 up to Hallett some time this year. I really iss that track.

Oh, my mistake. I swear I remember a green NB with wheels like that... maybe Manwhore's? Or maybe I've just been away from AX so long that the Alzheimer's is kicking in.

Anyway, glad to read that it's not your [old] baby.

Both Altiain and I have/had similar wheels. His Enkei split six spoke and me kosei split six spoke. That is a split 5 spoke.
