    Default Flooding

Unfortunately we were victims of the flooding in the Arlington (Shady Valley) area. We had 6-8" of water in the house when it crested this morning. We spent all day tearing out carpet, trying to move furniture to dry land and Shop-Vac'ing water up. No fun! We do carry flood insurance, so hopefully it will pay off for us.

Sammmm, I'm really sorry to hear about that. I hope everything works out for you, and the same thing goes for me - if I can help out in any way, just let me know.

Thanks for the offers guys! We had help all day and we got all the carpet and pad out of the house. Waiting for the insurance people to show up now. Thanks again, y'all are the best!

The hard part is going to be in replacing the bottom pieces of sheetrock

I have some tools and experience patching wallboard... so if you end up having to replace all the submerged portions of sheetrock, just holler...

Ya, I've already been told about that added bonus. Hopefully insurance will pay. If not, I'll let you know!

What sucks is that you have flood insurance.....and there is still a question about coverage. Insurance is such a racket.

    Good luck, Sammm.

A HUGE Thank You to POS, IMVIVID and Mr. & Mrs. Onething. All four of them spent a fun evening at our home helping us clean up. Mopping floors, moving furniture, tearing out laminate flooring and general hands & knees scrubbing. Words can't describe how grateful we are! Thanks y'all a bunch once again!

NOT - we just liked going through all their closets and personal things

Sammm may be a CB, but he's a good friend and that's what we do.

It was a secret to me too! POS was supposed to just deliver a mop. He brought IMVIVID and Mr. & Mrs. Thang too! He also let me borrow his pressure washer. What a life saver that is! I wore that thing out today!

Today the crew delivered fans and a de-humidifier too! You guys do rock!

After a month of fighting with our insurance company, mortage company and engaging a lawyer (seems they didn't pay our flood policy renewal on time ), we have an adjuster coming this Sunday to assess our damages. Keep your fingers crossed that some money for repairs will soon follow! (I'm tired of walking on bare slab flooring! )
