what would be best for 16", 215/45/16 or 215/50/16?
i want at lest a set, how soon are you looking to order?
I'm working on getting a group buy for some tires through a buddy. But to get a good discount on the tires I need enough people to buy 35 tires so the goal is 9 sets of tires. I'm not sure what the final price is going to be. I will find that information out either later today or early next week. So if your interested let me know Put down the size tire you would want.
Cost Per Tire if we can get 5 people to buy sets: $116.85 + $14.25 Per shaved tire = $131.10
Cost Per Tire if we can get 10+ people to buy sets: $110.70 + $13.50 Per shaved tire = 124.20
This price does not include the cost of shipping. Approx an additional $5-8 per tire.
through Gary
205/50-15 $120 each
225/45-15 $130 each
Shaving add $8.50 each
Shipping charges will also apply

I am interested in seeing the pricing. Goodwin Racing sells 205/50-15 RA-1s for $129 mounted and balanced when you buy wheels too and Edge Racing sells them for $120. Get them down around $100 and I might bite.
does anyone in town shave tires? I think 5th gear might, but I'm not sure.
why shave when you can run them a few time then shave them =P
That sounds logical, but a few sm drivers told me the tire will overheat, and blocks off tread will come off much quicker. I know its counter-intuitive, but this was recommended from previous experience. Apparently "tread squirm" makes a ton of heat.
I haven't spoken to any locals on this issue...primarily because I bought azenis in stead.

It all depends $$$ for 15". If we can get TCB deal, than I am in.

I'd take a set in 225/45/17 if the price is right.

Ra1s are on my shopping list for later this year, but for the right price I'd commit early.

Lightness? What's that? I drive a PRHT!
Maybe look on the SCCA forums since the miata shares lots of common sizes. I picked up a set of 6/32 RA1's from a guy on the Evo forum in 255/40/17 for my RX-8 for around 85 a piece.
