    Default fan not kicking on

I've noticed lately my fan doesn't kick on ever. Just the ac fan. What are some things i should do and check?

Your car might need a freon recharge. Does your ac seem cool instead of it being cold? My dad's pontiac has this problem when the AC doesn't have enough freon. I don't even use my AC, but I know that it doesn't blow cold. I parallel my fans at the ECU. Very simple mod.

I take this as a reference to the radiator fan. If I am correct, then your fan motor might be out. I had to replace mine. Cheap and easy using parts from Autozone.

There is a method to test the fan on my NA, so there might be way to test it on your NB, too. You might want to check the Garage on miata.net.

it blows perfectly cold, then as soon as the temp gauge starts rising it gets hotter of course.

jerrett i'll check miata.net to see if there is a way to check it out thanks for the tip.

On my NA the way to determine if the fan is working is to use the diagnostic port. Jumper TFA to GND.

I looked at our '02 and it didn't have a reference sticker on it to tell you where TFA & GND were located but the Diagnostic port looks the same....

Does anyone know if the jumper method works on an NB??

well bmcreider came over and helped me with the situation, the fan works but somewhere from the relay to the fan it's not making a connection so it's not working. we also found a tiny bit of oil like substance floating on the top of my overflow reservoir. tommorrow i am taking the multimeter (sp)? and start looking.
