    Talking Fuel lines...

Do they shrink without having gas in them for awhile? If so, I think I found the leak issue...

By the way, if no one is doing nothing tonight, I'll be working on the car... and you're more than welcome to come by if you'd like.

I would love to make it out, but that is one heck of a drive from Benbrook. I wish I had seen this post a day sooner then i could have made the trip over and stopped on the way back to make the pick up I made yesterday in Carrollton. Maybe next time.

I never thought you'd ask, Sweetheart!

I ended up taking a fuel bath when I replaced the fuel filter and lines underneath the car (figured I might as well do it while I was there...).

However, I still had a helluva gas stink coming from the back of the car. I opened the trunk and didn't see any pooling gas. But I did take off the covers that go over the fuel tank and fuel hose line on the parcel tray, and boy, oh boy, there was a pool of gas sitting on the rubber grommet that acts as a catch.

Looking up to the top of the fuel pump lid, I cussed myself out loud... the top of the lid wasn't even bolted down (8 bolts and none were present...). Needless to say, I found my leak. I did a late run over to Lowes and found the a size longer bolt, cut the bolts with my Dremel, and now the lid is nicely cinched down.

So far I've had a few test runs... I don't want to do anything too much 'cause I don't have a filter on the intake just yet. I will say that I do need to find some little plastic pieces that fit in the headlight buckets... it's a little piece that keeps the motor arm on the joint from falling off. It's fun going down the road with a car that suddenly drops one of the headlights!

I've got to have a tech day to have someone else just look over the car and make sure I didn't miss anything... nothing more aggravating that missing the obvious. Hopefully I can do that this weekend.
