Just for legal reasons I want to state that my car had nothing to do with it.

I'd take it directly to Dee Trim and tell them the story.

I bet they'd take care of it.

OK, it turns out the shop my insurance uses farms out convertible top work to Dee Trim. So I know where I am going.

Remember that Eldorado has a history of being dishonest. I bet that Radio's top never saw Dee's shop. Just my opinion.

    +1

They lied lied and lied to me about fixing a bent rim on my car.

I got a damn good deal on my car... I just wish it was another dealership that got my money. I know where I won't go back to buy.

Who did it & how much did it cost to get the top repaired?

I took it in to Caliber Collision Center, since that is who the insurance company sends me to. Since Caliber can't do convertible tops, they send it to Dee Trim in Plano. It would make more sense to just go to Dee Trim, but this way the insurance company guarantees any work done. The cost was just north of $2k, it would have been cheaper if Dee Trim could order a Robbins top, but Robbins does not currently make an NC top. I paid a $500 deductible.

I was talking about this with one of my coworkers, saying it would be really cool if I could invent a carbon nanotube weave convertible top that would be impossible to cut :)

Did they replace the whole top or just the cut panel? If they replaced the whole top then maybe you should contact Robbins to see if they want to dissect the old one to make a pattern.

They replaced the whole top, and Dee Trim kept the old one.
