Anyone ever made the trip for this? Or to Tail of the Dragon in General? I am thinking about making the trip this year maybe on the Miata weekend. (Or possibly another weekend when it is not overly crowded hopefully.)
Place to see/go or not see/go?

If there website is correct (XX) 20th year running? That is pretty amazing if correct. I am interested to hear if anyone is looking to go this year and how crowded it is these days.

I haven't been since 01' and 02'. It's a fun time! Be careful though.

Had a blast back in '02 with the old Outlaw crew. You definitely need to go at least once.

Sharpie, didn't we have to replace your slave cylinder at Dwights house in TN?

Been twice, worth going as there are many good roads and nice scenery in that part of the US.
Great pics Rogue! Are you going this year?
I went for Miatas XV almost 5 years ago. It was a very impromptu side trip on the way back to Dallas from Indy and was worth it. Local hotels were booked so I went to Walmart and bought a tent to camp. Stayed three nights through Monday and had fun driving the roads after the crowds left on Sunday. Pictures and words won't fully describe that weekend, I even have unedited/unpublished video from that trip. Easiest description of the Tail would be it's the first road I have ever driven that made me throw up from car sickness, as the DRIVER! I was on my 9 inch RPF1's with 50% tread Star Specs and it was a blast!
This was not on the Tail of the Dragon but close to Fontana Dam and my campsite.
