Default Texas Region SCCA '04 event #1 - Pennington Field, 3/21

The '04 season finally "officially" begins!

Time for a roll call - I'll be there, who else is coming? C Stock looks like it's going to have a pretty full field this season!

I'm in. Novice E-Stock. Looking forward to it!

    Can non-SCCA members pre-register?

Enjoy the event. I won't be playing at Pennington much this year.

If it's like last year, you don't need an SCCA membership to pre-register.

BTW, if you plan to stay on the Azenis this season, why not run in our local "Street Tire" class? You could give onething a run for his money for the season trophy.

Tell me more about "Street Tire" class. I think I beat onething at AX102 last week.

Iain makes two good points. You can definitely pre-pay/pre-register. However, the price is the same give or take $5 to also pick up an SCCA membership if you do so. Get the membership. Get the magazine. Drool over the race cars for sale in the back.

SCCA Texas Region looks to be "returning to the regional supplemental rules" regarding Novice - that means there won't be a season points championship. Considering the times you turned at the PCA school, I'd also recommend running tire class and whooping up on Hal. Whooping up on me, for that matter if I ran the PAX numbers right in my head.

I looked all over for how/where to pre-register, but couldn't find it. I did see where I can pre-pay/register for the whole year, but seeing as how I work every or every other Sunday ( ), I may have to miss some events.

Oh! THAT pre-register. Gotcha. Until further notice, the method is probably "e-mail David at the address listed on the TX Region SCCA site" with a subject line of "SCCA Event Registration". An online form may be forthcoming.

    NOOOOOO :P

Well, if you only come to some of the events, you probably won't mess with my year-end campaign

I figure I have run at-least 75 events @ Pennington over the years. There are only so many ways you can run on that site with a large group of people. Looking to drive different courses. You could say the same thing about MW but it has some speed that will still get the adrenaline flowing. So I will be more selective about events at Pennington.

Hummm... I "pre-registered" with Dave about 2 months ago -- sent him a check and asked for my number and work assignment to be confirmed. I haven't heard a whisper from him since. I know the whole work assignment thing is in the air, but I really wanted/needed to know about the number. Remember, I've changed my number and purchase a panel with it. Well, I'll be running 4cs or I won't be running SCCA events at all this year. If they can't even bother responding, piss on 'um.

Before eveyone gets there lederhosen in a twist, I'm sure David is a nice guy, and I'm equally sure he's been very busy. But it would have been nice for someone to (1) cash my bleeding check (so that I at least knew they received it), and (2) let me know if I got my number sometime within the past two months. Sorry, but I don't think that's too much to ask.

The SCCA is clearly not as organized as I thought a National organization would/should be...

First off you are the only one who wears lederhosen!

I also sent my check in a few moon back, the key thing I note is that my check has yet to clear my bank (which if they'd hurry it just may clear )!

    Wonder what's up with that......

bump. Would someone please explain to me what this really means. If I run in 'Street Tire class', will I still be in class of ES? Is there a novice group? What do I tell them when I register? Would I still have to remove my STB? Inquiring minds need to know! TIA!

If your TES you would, since the STB isn't a stock part for your '92

Give Hal a serious run for his bling, remove the STB and run in TES. The first time you trophy in Novice, they'll kick you out of the pool (or so they are saying).

This is a good source of information on classes and such. It's a reference not the law.

If you pull the STB, your car is ES. Since you are a novice you can run NES. The Tire with the STB pulled sould make you TES.

I think the STB if left in the car would technically make you CSP, so if you run tire class I think you'd be TCSP. Does that sound correct Tailchaser?
