    Default Truck Tires

Well... it looks like the truck needs a new set of tires and quick.

The right rear is de-laminating and I need to make a long drive home for Thanksgiving in it.

Is Discount Tire going to give the best prices in the area? I'm looking at the Michelin M/S's, but the price is going to be painfull. Is there another place I should look, or is DT going to give me as good a price as anywhere?

(Just cause I'm sure someone will ask, I'm looking for 265/75 R16 Load Range E tires)

    Thanks!

Call Al Cavan at the Collin Creek store and tell him what you'd like to pay (based on Tire Rack or your favorite discounter). He'll generally match the Tire Rack price and adds $10 for mount/balance.

Dave04 on my Expeditions I have gone to a place on Hwy. 10, which is a shop that buys all the stock wheels up from dealers putting the gangsta wheels on cars on their lots!

I'm sure you may have one by you, but my last set was like $300.00 for a set of 4 tires "cash"!

I'm a true CB! Sammm what's the name of that place??

That's a helluva deal for brand new truck tires. And dealers usually have decent quality tires on their lots. Except the 'Stones.

It was sweet they just rolled out a set of new dealer take-offs and for $300.00 cash I was on my way. The asking price was slightly higher, but cash talks. They get these tires and rims from the dealers for pennies on the dollar! Great way to save some $$$!

Something like 'Highway 10 Take-Offs'. I forget. It's on the corner of Highway 10 & Precinct Line.

Sounds suspiciously like Midnight Auto Parts to me.

when I was shopping around for some BFG A/Ts I did a search of all the usual online sites and found that the Sears flyer in the paper was a solid $20/corner cheaper than anywhere else...

It's at least worth a shot?

Yeah... I checked out Sears. They didn't cary the load range E tires that I wanted.

Turns out that DT's price was within about $2/tire of the TireRack price once you added in shipping and mount/balance. That extra $10 was worth just being able to go get them last night and not hassle with mail order.

I am much poorer today than I was yesterday unfortunately...

For future reference - North Texas Factory Takeoffs is the name of the place.
