You trying to jinx me or what? Last weekend I re-cleaned the intake and the infamous EGR port (a piece of weed-eater line works great BTW) while going thru a few cans of throttle-body cleaner.

Disconnected the battery before I started and reconnected after I finished. I've put around 150 miles on the car since, and so far so good. No CEL at this point! I did run the continuity check on the EGR valve itself and it was fine.

In your opinion, if the EGR check was OK, how does that jive with 'excessive EGR flow'? Any thoughts?

The EGR valve itself was OK (I figured it was worth checking while I was at it). According to the board, a P0402 code reflects the EGR port that runs thru the inside of intake is blocked, so that is what I concentrated on.
