You should do one in gunmetal gray.

Nice. You should grab some of the valve covers that don't have the timing belt guard on it. I'd buy one of those :)

Same here. I need a 1.6l without the timing belt cover. Price?
Wealth, power, and experience are apparently not enough to save us from social influences. Groupthink, as described by I.L.Janis, is the tendency for group members to reach a consensus opinion, even if that decision is downright stupid (Janis 1982).

    3. You sell cover without front like your customers asked.

I think the problem is this... They currently stock 8 different versions... adding Gunmetal gray takes them to 12. Adding cut covers then takes them to 24 versions. I suspect that would be too much for Gary to stock. A better alternative would be for those interested in something special to contact Gary and see if he could include a 1 off for them in his next run.

What's the point of exposing the timing belt and cam gears? I'd rather have that covered instead of exposing it to under-the-hood-elements.

If you have adjustable cam gears, you need the cut cover to adjust them.

    Thanks Titus.

From a business stand point, we went with the two most popular colors. Most people are fine with an uncut valve cover. There is already a great deal of prep work to powder coat these and keep the price reasonable.

If you have an interest in something beyond that, call us and we will see what we can do.

I have a few bare covers available. The labor involved in modifying one would affect the price unless you wished to do the work.

Isn't there another car out there with a valve cover that fits our car that doesn't have the cast cover on it?? I've seen it at a Wed. night GTG can't remember what the guy told me it came off of. It was another Mazda.

If it's the guy I'm thinking (I need to call him about my intercooler pipes still too), I want to say it was from a 1.6l Capri. Almost positive actually. His name is Josh...has the flat black vinyl wrapped NA.

And not to highjack the thread, but I have a spare 1.6l valve cover, and will be getting another in a few weeks. Just FYI, not trying to sell it here.

EDIT: Found a pic of the one I'm talking about. And I saved it on my phone as "capricover" so I would imagine I listened to him correctly when I took that picture. Hope he doesn't mind that I posted a pic of his motor here.

The 1990-1994 Mazda Protege LX used our 1.8 with a cover similar to the one posted by Rob.
