Thread: Look what the nice man in the DHL truck just left for me...

Talking Look what the nice man in the DHL truck just left for me...

    Talk about fast shipping!!

I just ordered this last Thursday and here it showed up today! I figured a week, week and half at most... but no, I was nicely surprised. Tom ( MME member - partsgroup ) is a total class act and extremely helpful.

My car has been up on jackstands over the weekend with all the various nuts and pieces being soaked in PB Blaster. Keep your eyes open for a tech day soon... I hope to make this as easy as I can.

My question is this - how do I press the old bushings out and put them in this one?

Very nice! You might want to spring for new bushings. They get crunchy with age.

    You should paint it blue.

Yeah... clean it up and have it powder coated... that would look very nice!

You must have paid extra for the box. TCB don't need no stinkin box.

When will the paint be dry so we can stick it in???

I'll be disconnecting the drive shaft and half shafts here in a second...

As for the rest, I'm not sure. When is the next available weekend. I'll be sure to cook burgers, brats, and dogs for everyone that shows.

We got a new oven last spring and I gave the old one to my Father-in-law. He was going to set it up in his shop for small powder coating projects. Hmmm.... I wonder if it would fit?

You are the one with a diff sitting on your kitchen floor! I suspect the powder coating oven is about the same size as the oven in your kitchen... open it up and see if the diff fits!

I am assuming you will disassemble the diff before baking, as the seals will probably not enjoy the oven. The other thing to think about is oil residue baking on to the ring and pinion.

If you are up for what Chris suggests, let me know and I will give him a call. You will need to spring for any supplies... no idea what that would cost.

Tasty! I hope I can make this tech day.
Dealing with PPF is the only slightly hard part.

when i did the exact same thing, i used the bushings from the "new" diff. hmm, if you need a press, i know where you can take it. if it were me, id srping for the mazdaspeeeeed diff bushings, itd be stiffer and tranfer more vibes into the car, but hey, its only more "feel!"
