I need a good ac repair company

Looks like the outside blower went out on our house last night. Anyone have a rec. for a good ac company?

Is it just the fan? Can you turn the blade by hand? If not, the fan motor froze on you.

It's a bitch to find anyone that will sell you the parts, but Granger carries the fan motors if you want to replace it yourself. I had that happen about 7 yrs ago here.

Honest AC people are HARD to come by. Be careful that when they do a "tune up and freon install" that they don't screw with it and try to charge you for unnecessary repairs.

Have you checked the Compressor Contactor in the outside unit, had this fail on my A/C unit a couple years ago, fixed myself for under $100.00.

COMPRESSOR CONTACTOR. ---HOW IT WORKS---THIS DEVICE HAS A COIL WHICH IS ACTIVATED BY THE THERMOSTAT. THIS COIL ENERGIZES AND PULLS DOWN THE CONTACT POLES WHICH TURNS THE FAN AND COMPRESSOR ON. THIS DEVICE COMMONLY FAILS.

Came home to it last night with the inside unit running although it wasn't pushing much air. Went outside to find the outdoor unit NOT running with the pipes all frozen over (since the freon wasn't being circulated). I can push the fan blades and they move freely, although it doesn't start up. I've checked the breakers and none are tripped.

I'm over in Richardson.
